I wanted Canvas to never close after graduation. So I made it stay open.

We’re proud that you care this much about what you study. You chose a path you love. Keep it with you as you chase what comes next.

The page stays the page.

Not a mystery folder of disconnected downloads. The course still feels like the course you remember opening.

01
Feedback stays beside the assignment.

Teacher comments, TA notes, scores, and visible rubric details stay with the page that gives them meaning.

02
Discussions stay open and in order.

Visible threads, posts, and expanded replies remain part of the conversation instead of becoming loose text.

03
The course keeps its shape.

Modules, announcements, pages, assignments, links, and files stay organized around the way you learned them.

04
Lectures can come with you, too.

Save supported course media and export lecture videos to audio (MP3) for the material you want to revisit.

Your Canvas login stays with your school.

You keep using Canvas the way you already do. CanDownloader helps you take home a copy of the courses you choose.

1

Open Canvas as usual.

Sign in through your school’s own Canvas login page, including the same school sign-in or verification you already use.

2

Choose a course.

Pick the course you want to keep. CanDownloader can only save pages your own account can already open.

3

Keep it on your computer.

Your saved pages, discussions, feedback, files, and course structure go into a folder you control.

Your Canvas password stays between you and your school. CanDownloader does not collect or save it. Your course content stays on your computer; the app only goes online to confirm free saves or purchases.

One honest limit

If you can still open it, save it now.

CanDownloader does not reopen a course after your school removes access. It preserves the version you can see today, before it disappears.

Find the answer you came for.

The homepage stays simple. These practical guides answer the detailed questions students search before graduation.

Open the Canvas saving guides
Does it save discussions, replies, and assignment feedback?

It is designed to save the visible Canvas page with the context around it, including expanded discussion replies, submission comments, instructor or TA feedback, and visible rubric details where available.

Is this the same as an official Canvas Course Export?

No. CanDownloader makes a personal, browsable copy of the Canvas pages you can access. It is not an official Canvas package for importing a course into another school system.

Can it recover a course that already disappeared?

No. It must be used while your own Canvas account can still open the course. If access has already ended, CanDownloader cannot restore it.

Save the course you may want to return to someday.

Start with the one course you would be most upset to lose.
